However, the Environment Agency and the Home Office have agreed that the denaturing of medicines as required under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations will not be subject to this requirement.
The answer is to use a Controlled Drug Destruction Kit
Instructions for use with easyHYGIENE Controlled Drug Destruction Kit:
1. Shake container to loosen granules
2. Fill container as follows
a. Tablets - crush and add up to half capacity only
b. Powders - add up to half capacity
c. Liquids - add up to half capacity
d. Ampoules - Break open or crush and add up to full capacity
3. Fill with water to capacity
4. Replace lid
5. Shake thoroughly to disperse
6. Conatents will congeal within 1 to 2 minutes
Dispose via approved pharmaceutical waste container - incineration only.
Do not remove or ingest contents
